Aims

Southampton Education Trust aims to improve the position of all young people in the City of Southampton by raising standards in the City's schools. It plans to achieve this by strengthening schools' linkages with business, other sectors of education and the wider community, through the appointment of Governors to Trust Schools and, by agreement, the supply of services.

At present the Trust is in the process of being legally created. It is expected that the Trust will have charitable status and will be formed of between 8 and 10 Trustees. These will be individuals nominated by organisations representative of the wide range of interests in the Trust.
